Welcome to Sukiyaki And Shabu Shabu Tomitaya Shinbashi

Japan, 〒105-0004 Tokyo, Minato City, Shinbashi, 4 Chome−15−1 岩崎産業ビル 2階

General Info

Sukiyaki And Shabu Shabu Tomitaya Shinbashi sits quietly in the lively Shinbashi area, tucked away on the second floor of the Iwasaki Sangyo Building at 〒105-0004 Tokyo, Minato City, Shinbashi, 4 Chome−15−1. Stepping inside feels like entering a calm pocket of Tokyo where food takes center stage and distractions fade away. This is the kind of place locals talk about in glowing reviews, especially when the topic turns to comforting hot pot meals done right.

As a dedicated sukiyaki and shabu shabu restaurant, the menu keeps its focus sharp and confident. One of the standout dishes is the すき焼き 赤身, featuring lean beef prepared with care so the natural flavor shines through. The balance of richness and simplicity makes it easy to see why this dish is a highlight. Alongside it, the うどん adds a comforting, familiar touch that rounds out the meal without stealing the spotlight.

What really elevates the experience is the seasonal feel of the dishes. The 丸ごととまとの冷製 brings a refreshing contrast, especially welcome when you want something light yet memorable. It’s thoughtfully prepared and fits seamlessly into the overall flow of the menu, showing attention to detail without feeling overworked.

Drinks are handled just as well. A cold 生ビール pairs naturally with the warmth of sukiyaki and shabu shabu, while the availability of wine gives diners more flexibility. Whether you’re settling in for a relaxed evening or a focused meal, the alcohol selection feels intentional rather than excessive.

From a service perspective, the restaurant keeps things practical and modern. Reservations are required, which helps maintain a calm atmosphere and consistent quality. Takeaway options are available for those who want to enjoy the food elsewhere, and PayPay is accepted, making payment smooth and convenient. These small touches matter, especially in a busy area like Shinbashi.

Overall, this restaurant fits naturally into its location, offering a clear concept, a focused menu, and services that support a comfortable dining experience. It’s the kind of place that earns repeat visits, not through hype, but through steady, reliable quality that speaks for itself.

“ I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience we had at this small, cozy sukiyaki restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The ambiance was intimate and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a family dinner. One of the standout aspects of our visit was how accommodating the staff were. Despite the language barrier, they went out of their way to communicate with us in English. They were patient and kind, ensuring we understood everything on the menu. The owner, a lovely lady who speaks excellent English, took the time to chat with us, sharing interesting stories about the restaurant and Japanese culture. We ordered both sukiyaki and shabu shabu, and they were nothing short of spectacular. The beef was incredibly fresh and tender, melting in our mouths with every bite. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, a testament to the quality of ingredients and the skill of the chefs. Watching the staff cook the dishes right at our table was not only a treat for the taste buds but also a delightful and engaging experience for our kids. They were fascinated by the process and it made the meal even more special. What truly set this restaurant apart was the extraordinary level of service. It was raining heavily when we finished our meal, and we struggled to find a cab. Seeing our predicament, one of the staff members went out into the rain to hail a cab for us. This kind gesture left a lasting impression on us, showcasing their genuine care for their customers. The attention to detail, from the beautifully presented dishes to the impeccable service, made our dining experience truly memorable. We left the restaurant with full hearts and stomachs, already planning our next visit. This is more than just a place to eat; it’s a place where you feel welcomed and cared for, as if you’re part of their family. I highly recommend this sukiyaki restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming dining experience. We can’t wait to return! ”

“ Great for authentic Sukiyaki cooked for you by the lovely staff. This restaurant whilst hidden, has a very homely feel as the ladies serve your dishes at your seat. Some of the sukiyaki sets can get pricey but this is justified from the high quality cuts of meat. ”

“ Delicious homemade Sukiyaki from kind and warm family!! Must try!!! They will make the sukiyaki for you in front of you and it is so tasty! It is upstairs so it may be hidden but I guarantee you it is a hidden GEM as it is a homely and lovely place for authentic Sukiyaki dinner!!! ”

“ Mother's know best ... Sukiyaki is one of my favourite meals in the world, especially in winter ... sharing meals with loved ones. It's an experience that I didn't grow up with, but I am very blessed to have many Sukiyaki with family and friends, as I normally do the cooking. I would suggest that most Japanese families would experience these occasions many times over ... they would not care what grade of beef Mum used ... as long as it's wholesome and delicious. Tonight, we've decided on having some Sukiyaki in Shimbashi, near Ginza ... we stumbled upon this Sukiyaky/Shabu Shabu restaurant on the first floor and greeted a few elderly women, showing us to the table, not the Tatami room. A refreshing and spicy cucumber appetiser was included as part of the cover charge ¥800.00/person. We ordered our sake, and the basic lean meat ¥5,000 and 300 ml sake ... one of the women started prepping and cooking the meal. First, she meticulously separated the lumps on the egg whites, whisked it, until it bubbles, then mixed it with the yolks, all using a long chopsticks. Then, she started cooking the meat, placed it in the bowl with the whisked egg, and served it to ua ... wow ... just wholesomely delicious. Followed by the vegetables section, tofu, beef, and udon noodles ... a beautiful medley of goodness. For around ¥17,000 later, we enjoyed the Sukiyaki and loved the home cooked style Sukiyaki There's a signed guernsey of Lionel.Mesi while he was at Barcelona on the wall ... I'm not sure whether he's been here, but I would not be surprised. A home cooked Sukiyaki like what Japanese mothers would cook at home, wholesomely made with love, and you can feel it on your palate ... thank you.hope to see you another time ... ”

“ Lovely cosy place located on the .2nd floor of building. Came in and I spoke in English. They replied back with Japanese greetings and basic understandable English words. They have English and Japanese menus ; of which the waitress will explain the sequence of ordering. When I arrived about 6pm. Thinking I was the only customer and thought I would have the place to my quiet self. To my surprise the restaurant was packed within 5-10mins bustling. Waitress will speak into her device and ‘talk’ to you. I didn’t need to as she understood what I needed. Dishes are sizeable and good portions ”
